Restaurant Prinz Carl in Buchen im Odenwald

Today we took advantage of the take-away Christmas dinner offer. That was by far the best takeaway I've ever had. Freshly cooked food in the best restaurant quality.

We went to the Prinz Carl for breakfast on October 15th. Selection was okay and the service was really sensational. However, asking 7.50 p.m. per person for a hotel breakfast for out-of-house guests is a decent price and then not even a coffee specialty is included. Absolutely overpriced for a place in the province. Every hotel can compete in terms of price and quality in a big city. Hence not the best value for money. The 4-course menu showcase for 64 euros. How many gourmet points does this house have?

We had a very nice lunch, the service was great, the food was brilliant and the atmosphere was very comfortable. We felt very comfortable !!

Nice old hotel with tradition. Restaurant: Great menu. You don't eat anything common here. Great team!

We sat down here for a lunch break. Although the space for such a project is very nice, the price for it is even priced into the soup and we had to spoon it out. On our 14 day trip we didn't find another soup for 9.50 €! Even without VAT, this soup beat all others by 30%. Probably the water in the Odenwald is very expensive. At least the soup tasted good, as my co-pilot didn't complain. The salad, like all the other dishes, was rather expensive, but at least my salad was tasty and the service in the house was adequate. Supporting gastronomy in the difficult days almost failed after visiting Prince Carl. Since other locations had found an acceptable level, we didn't have to switch to self-sufficiency.

The interior of the room is a bit dammed, a lot of rust in the bathroom. But there were very creative salads in the restaurant.

The rooms of the architect Eiermann are something special - we like the style very much. The staff was competent and very friendly, the French week dinner was very tasty and reasonably priced. The breakfast under Corona conditions really well solved, delicious selection and something for all needs. Conclusion: highly recommended & gladly again (August 2020)

Cozy. Clean. Neat. Courteous. Delicious food. Varied breakfast buffet.

Very nice little hotel with over 400 years of history. The rooms are lovingly furnished. In the main building it is more traditional, the extension by the architect Egon Eiermann is more puristic and the new building is more modern. The breakfast is a real legend, especially the omelette, although everything tastes fantastic and is presented very well. The team is very nice and helpful. A stay is definitely worth it.

Very clean & Tidy. Nice restaurant with bar. Large verities of drinks. Breakfast/Meals very good. Staff is very courteous . Had Very comfortable stay for 5days. Only one suggestion: To provide electric kettle for preparing Tea/Coffee.

Nice Hotel, friendly service and good rooms. We visited the Spa building with the Vital Hotel for a chess Tournament and were treated Very friendly and helpful.
